Relevance to Storyline: Childhood friend to one Claire Bennet, social outcast and subtle voice of anarchy at Union Wells High School. The Cheerleader's cheerleader (No, he's not joining the squad!)

Ability: Helping people get in touch with their inner freak. And he's good with computers, but nothing you would call 'evolved.'

History: Zach was born and raised in possibly the dullest, quietest town in all of the great state of Texas. Different from the outset, he's spent most of his time creating worlds of his own and living in the sci-fi/fantasy visions of others. Despite this, Zach is probably the most grounded person in Odessa you don't know. He sees things not only for their surface, but for what they truly are, and what they could be. He's been raised to be true to himself and to his friends, and knows how to be discreet at the same time. He understands that being confident in who you are doesn't necessarily mean shoving it in other people's faces, just living so if people take the time to look they can see.

Zach realized his fluid sexuality when he was thirteen and had come to terms with it before his next birthday. He left his Methodist youth group and quit the church band after another six months to explore alternative spiritual paths, finding steady footing on the Wiccan way, with a healthy dose of Techno-Paganism to compliment his love of computers, film and miscellaneous gadgetry. He eventually developed a taste for loud music and banned books as well, and his take-me-as-I-am attitude has won him a small but genuine and close knit circle of friends, and the respect of the unpopular crowd throughout Union Wells and greater Odessa.

Most recently his childhood friend Claire re-initiated their long-withered relationship, confiding in Zach secrets she felt she could share with no one else, not even family. Zach helped her build confidence in herself and her abilities, even won her the spot of Home Coming Queen. Unfortunately knowing too much has gotten him into a spot of trouble. After Jackie Wilcox's murder on Home Coming night, a tall, dark man came calling on Zach to make sure those secrets were buried. Luckily enduring years of bullying has made Zach proficient in the art of dodging wedgies, swirlies, and over-all ass-kickings, so he's not easy to get a drop on. He's been laying low for the last few days, paranoid about returning to school and unable to get close to Claire. He'd have texted her, but he had to lose his jacket to give the Haitian the slip. No six foot spook is gonna keep him running scared forever, though. Odessa is Zach's turf, especially the school.
